Community College
Initially founded in 1966, the Copper Mountain College campus in Joshua Tree was built in 1984, with the college becoming independent of the Desert Community College District in 2001. CMC prepares students for transfer to universities, and provides CTE vocational training, with 49 Associate degrees and certificates. CMC also offers Adult Education programs for GED/high school completion and ESL courses. The “Fighting Cacti” offer women’s volleyball and basketball, and men’s basketball programs.
